Jean Simmons as Ophelia, her suicide with Roger K. Furse

Laurence Olivier‘ Shakespeare adaptation, ” Hamlet” (1948) featured Jean Simmons as Ophelia.
The brilliant set designer and frequent collaborator of the director was Roger K Furse (1903 – 1972). His other film credits include “Henry V” (1945), “Odd Man Out” (1947), “Ivanhoe” (1952) and “The Roman Spring of Mrs Stone” (1961). He did the stellar artistic work for Hamlet as well. Here is with Jean Simmons, filming her suicide scene.
